I'm w3b3g. Day job: community manager and security for BONKbot (bonkbot.io), same role on call for ChartGenie — a friend's project. The fake BONKbot army

BONKbot is a big target — that's what a big community buys you. Scammers built a whole business out of faking us: "support" bots that message you first and ask for your seed phrase "to confirm the account", websites that copy the real dashboard and exist to drain wallets, backup bots for when the first ones get reported, "Auth_" bots that walk you through handing over your keys.

I know what the real bot looks like because I work on it. Everything on this list was checked, confirmed and reported — then it was gone.

outcome: all 239 logged, plus the domain clones. New ones still pop up. They don't last long.

The wallet-repair industry

"Your wallet is out of sync, connect it here to repair it." "Validate to unlock your funds." "Complete this approval." The scam: a page that looks official, and a story that makes you connect your wallet or type your seed phrase into it. One template, hundreds of names — this family is most of the website list.

None of it was ever real. Real wallets don't need fixing, and no real service asks for your seed phrase. Ever.

outcome: the farms are down. They rehost and rename — every comeback goes on the list and gets killed again.

Presale season

Token trends, the fakes follow. Fake presales collecting SOL, "claim your airdrop" pages that drain whoever connects, even clones of the rug-check tools people use to stay safe. They spin up fast and vanish before the community catches on.

So the job is to catch on first.

outcome: terminated and logged. I can't get stolen money back — I can make sure the next victim doesn't send any.

The method

no magic — just persistence

Spot

I look for impersonations everywhere a name is worth faking — mine, BONKbot's, whatever's trending. The tells are lazy: a handle off by one letter, a dashboard that's a copy, a "support" bot that DMs first.

Verify

Nothing gets reported without proof. Screenshots, links, what the bot asks for, who it claims to be. Reports without evidence are noise. Mine get read.

Kill

Abuse reports to whoever is hosting it — the host, the registrar, the DNS, Telegram. In parallel, a warning to the community, so nobody falls for it while the reports are being processed.

Repeat

They rehost. Dead domains come back as clones, banned bots as new names. The ledger exists because this never actually ends — it just gets logged.

If you run a crypto community, you're getting impersonated right now. Most projects find out when a user gets drained. I'll sweep your channels, take down the fakes, and keep them down.
